Eto feels the love at London Design Festival

In September we took part in the London Design Festival 2021 – The Design Festival takes over the capital for a nine-day celebration of design and creativity.

eto was a huge hit, we even met some of our original Kickstarter backers, and introduced eto to many more people.

The festival spanned 10 design districts and eto was part of the exhibition at Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross, hosted by the Wolf & Badger store.

We collaborated with a collection of stunning homeware brands to create a beautiful tablescape.

We also took the opportunity to hold our inaugural Meet the Makers event. With our full collection of eto wine decanters on display and some delicious wines to taste, Tom, Dina and Alex chatted with guests.

So what is the best way to preserve an open wine? Take your wine decanter and simply extend the neck, steadily decant your wine into eto, pour yourself a glass or two, the long neck helps oxygenates the wine allowing the wine to breathe, then when you’re ready simply replace the closure and push down on the neck until the patented design seals your wine from the air.  When you’re ready for another glass lift the neck to release the seal and then serve, the sharp lip gives drip free pouring.  We were asked, how long does the wine store for in eto?  This depends on the wine, the grape, where it’s stored and how vigorously you decant.  Talking to people we heard how they just wanted to enjoy a bottle over the week and eto does this perfectly.    We showed them how easy it is to clean the decanter, eto comes in 6 easy pieces to take apart, rinse well with warm water and leave to air dry completely, we recommend storing the parts in the eto pouch which also doubles up as a soft cloth to keep your eto smudge free & sparkling.

It was great to introduce eto to those seeing it for the first time, people looking for Christmas gift inspiration, and discovering how eto works with people's busy lifestyles, becoming their go to wine decanter accessory.

If you’re curious about the wines we enjoyed on the day, the white was a lovely Picpoul de Pinet 2019 from Chateau de la Mirande and the red was a Nero D’Avola Sicilla DOP 2019 from Italy. These were both supplied by Hicce restaurant, which we also recommend as a fantastic place to eat.

We loved our experience at the London Design Festival and to those of you who dropped by, thank you for supporting eto. We’re planning other events over the next few months so watch this space!
